Kanuka Digital are proud to announce that we are the new sponsors of Staffs Web Meetup, a monthly gathering of web and tech enthusiasts based in our hometown of Stafford.
Founded in October 2014 by a group of web enthusiasts, including two employees of our parent company iWeb, Staffs Web Meetup is close to marking its fourth year.
Hosted on the third Wednesday of every month, each event features lightning talks from industry experts and enthusiasts on topics as diverse as web design, security, future tech and app development.
Alongside the excellent talks presented by members of the group, the Meetup has hosted guest speakers from the BBC, Opera, IBM, Microsoft, RNIB, Staffordshire Police, Code Club and the Raspberry Pi Foundation.
All attendees are encouraged to join in with discussions, share their knowledge, learn from each other in a friendly and welcoming environment for all skill levels.
Attendance has grown substantially over the years, and sponsorship from local companies to help cover costs for the venue, food and drink has allowed this to happen.
Many of iWeb and Kanuka Digital’s team regularly attend, and as such it’s fantastic to be able to contribute to the ongoing success of the meetup and give back to Staffordshire’s tech scene.
The meetup brings people together, from both the local area and further afield. The continued success is in part down to our generous sponsors, including Kanuka Digital.
Phil Wylie, Co-Founder of Staffs Web Meetup
The first Staffs Web Meetup to be sponsored by Kanuka Digital featured talks from Tim Nash of 34SP.com highlighting best practice for keeping WordPress websites secure and Kanuka Digital’s Chris Munday covering common SEO misconceptions.
We are very proud to be able to support Staffs Web Meetup – it’s a fantastic asset to the local tech community. The fact it’s been so well attended for nearly four years is testament to the organisers passion and commitment. Here’s to many more!
