It’s been just over 3 months since I joined the Kanuka team as their new Digital Marketing Executive. As cliche as it sounds, it really has flown by!
You’d normally feel nervous about starting a new role, however the team made me feel so welcome. This meant that I settled into life at Kanuka pretty much straight away.
After having an office tour and introductions to the team, my first few days consisted of finding my feet, getting to know the team I’d be working with and understanding the sorts of clients & tasks I’d be working on.
Before starting my new role at Kanuka, I’d previously worked at another Digital Marketing Agency specialising in PPC, SEO and Paid Social. Although I had experience in these areas, I was keen to expand on these skills and learn lots of new skills such as technical SEO, content marketing and digital strategy.
I have already learnt so much and gained lots of new skills during my short time at Kanuka. As a result, I thought I’d share a roundup of the things that make working at Kanuka so great…
Agency life – working in a digital agency is great. Being able to work on a wide variety of tasks each day means you have constant variety in your working day. One day I could be creating new Facebook Ads campaigns, the next I could be writing new content for a client’s website.
Opportunities for growth – there’s plenty of opportunities to grow your skills here at Kanuka. Attending exciting events such as our big brother agency iWeb‘s event, iWeb Live meant I learnt lots about eCommerce as well as meeting some of our clients for the first time! Exhibiting at the Let’s Do Business Expo alongside my colleagues Lee, Joe and Ian was another highlight. It was great to get the opportunity to meet lots of business owners from all across Staffordshire and Birmingham. I was able to share my digital marketing knowledge as well as selling Kanuka’s services of course.
Supportive team – it’s great to be part of a team who are supportive and are more than willing to help. This makes it so much easier to learn new skills.
Food – you can be rest assured that you will be well fed at Kanuka. There hasn’t been a week in the office where there hasn’t been a supply of sweets or a lunchtime BBQ! While this is great for productivity, I don’t think my waistline will agree…
Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed my first few months working as a digital marketing executive at Kanuka. I can’t wait to see how I develop in my role in the future.
