I joined the Kanuka team as the new SEO Manager almost 3 months ago. Time flies!
As you might have guessed, I started this role during the COVID-19 lockdown. It has been an interesting experience for me (and probably for the rest of the team too). At this stage, I have only met with my colleague Joe on my first day. He took me through the various projects, priorities, clients, agency structure and all other important elements that are usually covered in the first few days of a new role. Since then…everything has been online!
Despite not being able to see each other in person, we’re communicating on a daily basis in many ways. Everything has worked out well in the end. Although, I can’t wait to meet everyone, including clients, in person someday!
Since I started working at Kanuka Digital I have worked on different projects such as technical SEO audits and roadmaps for clients across different industries. As well as analytics audits, site migrations, day-to-day SEO fixes and generally implementing the recommendations from the audits. There are also ad hoc projects and questions that come up on a regular basis that require SEO input.
Before starting this SEO manager role at Kanuka Digital, I have worked for a few brands in the travel industry, as well as several digital agencies in the UK and New Zealand. This involved working across all aspects of SEO: technical SEO, off-page & digital PR, content, local SEO and more.
I really like working for digital agencies such as Kanuka Digital. It is great because you get the opportunity to work on so many different projects and across many industries. Don’t get me wrong, it is challenging but very rewarding at the same time, and always a great learning opportunity.
Everyday is different too which is something that I personally enjoy a lot!
