Crazy Price Beds are one of the UK’s leading independent bed retailers, supplying quality beds and mattresses at great value prices both in-store and online. 

The Brief

Paid Search advertising has been crucial to their continual growth since launching in 2005 but return on ad spend had started to diminish. Campaigns and bid strategies that used to generate a lot of revenue were no longer doing so and it was clear that a re-think and fresh approach was needed.

The challenge

Reverse the trend of underperforming campaigns and a dwindling Return on Ad Spend through Google and Microsoft Ads.

Approach

We started with an in-depth audit of Crazy Price Beds ad accounts and campaigns, looking at historical data to get a better understanding of what was working and what wasn’t. 

This included an analysis of Google Shopping campaigns, from the fundamentals of the product feed to campaign structure and search terms. Things weren’t ‘broken’ as such, rather they needed some fine tuning and closer attention to detail. From this we were able to plan a phased roll-out of changes to the product feed, campaign structure and bid strategies. 

Search Network (text ads) had become a sidelined part of their paid search strategy but our audit highlighted opportunities such as dynamic search ads that we could tap into to drive more online revenue.

By working closely with the team at Crazy Price Beds, we were quickly able to understand their product range, profit margins and key seasonal trends. Regular conversations with the team makes sure that we’re kept in the loop to react appropriately to new product lines and promotions and any changes in the bed industry.

This has informed a vastly more profitable paid search strategy and a return on investment that is driving forward the growth of the business.
