The brief

Yuasa Battery Europe Ltd is a subsidiary of the world renowned GS Yuasa Corporation, one of the world’s largest battery manufacturers and a global leader in quality and innovation. The GS Yuasa Group has revenue in excess of £3 billion, consists of 65 subsidiaries and 33 affiliates in countries throughout the world.

Our brief involved revamping their battery lookup system so users can find compatible batteries for their vehicles. The system aimed for simplicity and speed, enabling users to input their vehicle registration and promptly receive a list of recommended batteries.

Additionally, the project involved setting up an online dealer network utilising Google Maps. The aim was for users to input their area’s postcode and receive a list of nearby stockists.

What we did

Developed a bespoke, responsive WordPress theme from a unique design.
Created focused landing pages showcasing their premium battery range
Engineered a vehicle lookup system using the DVLA’s API
Constructed a Dealer network utilising the Google Maps API
Employed WordPress as the CMS for content management
Enhanced usability by streamlining navigation and simplifying the user journey.
Integrated a versatile page builder for seamless future updates.
Conducted rigorous internal testing to ensure compliance with requirements and functionality.

Multilingual versions

A critical aspect of the project involved translating the site into Spanish, French, Italian, and German, targeting vital markets for the client. To achieve this, we utilised the WordPress WPML translation plugin and developed advanced stylesheets. This solution guaranteed seamless functionality across all languages.
