The two months since I joined Kanuka Digital as their new Digital Marketing Assistant in September have flown by. Joining a team who were so welcoming and willing to help me learn means I’ve been able to settle into my new role super easily.
After a tour of the open plan, modern office and facilities, and an induction from Digital Marketing Manager, Joe, my first few days consisted of finding my feet, getting to know the team I’d be working with and understanding the sorts of clients & tasks I’d be working on.
A relaxed atmosphere, high-tech Apple equipment and unlimited drinks & snacks – Kanuka have it all!
Prior to landing my current role at Kanuka, I worked at another marketing agency, specialising in paid search (PPC) and paid social campaigns. I was drawn to the role at Kanuka as I knew I’d be able to build on my experience as well as learn lots of new skills, from SEO and Content Marketing, to building E-mail Marketing campaigns.
Having worked mainly on paid search and social campaigns in my last job, I was super excited to explore other marketing avenues, like SEO & content marketing, to broaden my skillset.
Some of the first tasks I worked on were creating blog content for Tile Giant as well as the Kanuka Blog, reviewing PPC accounts and working alongside SEO Specialist, Lee, to learn the fundamentals of SEO and carry out basic but essential tasks like keyword research. I’ve also assisted with the setup of e-mail marketing campaigns and learnt how to create eye-catching and effective imagery and infographics for blog posts.
From all the knowledge I’ve gained and skills I’ve learnt in just over two months, I thought I’d share a roundup of the things that make working at Kanuka so great…
#1. The wide variety of tasks to get involved with keeps me on my toes, from building and optimising paid search campaigns to coming up with new creative content for clients’ blogs – no day is the same!
#2. Being in a super supportive team who are all more than willing to help each other out means I am constantly learning new skills and discovering which areas of digital marketing I enjoy the most.
#3. There’s plenty of opportunities for growth, meaning we get to host and attend exciting events, like Kanuka Live, the State of Digital Conference and team building ‘away days’.
Overall, I’ve had a great time working at Kanuka Digital so far, I’ve already learnt so much and look forward to continuing to build on my skills and experiences.
